Innovative production and patented technology

BOLSAECO uses state-of-the-art technology and materials to guarantee high quality products. Our bags are made from materials such as PLA, PHA and starch blends to ensure durability and full biodegradability.All of our products are manufactured using a unique patented technology that makes them stronger than plastic, lighter than similar products and lighter in weight.Thanks to the amino acid content and our technology, we can confidently say that the quality of our products is unrivalled on the market.Our production capacity is 150 million pieces per month.

Our main advantages:

2-cost of living

More favourable prices

The cost of our products is several times lower than that of our competitors thanks to favourable raw material prices.

Lower product weight

The product weight is 42-48% less than plastic.

Greater durability

At the same bag thickness, our products are 2.5 times stronger than plastic. They are tear-resistant and waterproof.

Completely compostable

All of our products are compostable at home, not in production (i.e. they are made of food-safe plastic).

  • The global threat of plastic

    1 million plastic bags are used in the world every minute;
    - 10% of all garbage produced by people is plastic bags;
    - a bag, depending on its thickness, takes 100 to 400 years to decompose;
    - one person uses at least 500 bags per year;
    - the average duration of using a plastic bag is 30 minutes;
    - and a plastic bag is made in just one second...
    The plastic bags also cause great harm to the planet's ecology. Trillions of tonnes of polyethylene end up in landfills every year, contaminating the earth with toxic substances. Since they naturally decompose within 100-500 years, if we don't reduce their production, the entire planet will soon be overwhelmed by used bags. And burning such waste is dangerous - the combustion process releases a huge amount of carcinogens into the atmosphere, which pollute the air and destroy the ozone layer. Secondary waste recycling is poorly developed.
    Lightweight plastic bags are quickly carried by the wind over long distances and pollute the environment. Tonnes of plastic end up in the world's oceans every year, resulting in the formation of two huge garbage plots with a total area larger than the United States.
    Plastic bags kill about one million birds, more than 100,000 animals, and a huge number of marine and freshwater inhabitants every year. They mistake the brightly coloured packaging for food, swallow it and die.
    They also pose a threat to human health, as microplastic particles can get into food and water. In addition, the production of the bags uses non-renewable resources - 35 litres of crude oil per 1,000 bags.
    Food in the bag starts to deteriorate faster because there are many bacteria on the polyethylene. In a tightly closed transparent bag, condensation forms, which quickly develops mould. Storing fermented foods and foods with high acidity destroys the top layer of the bag and as a result, chemical compounds penetrate the food and poison it. When polyethylene is subjected to freezing, it also releases toxins that are dangerous to humans.
    Semi-finished products are particularly harmful. Many manufacturers recommend heating and cooking them in their packaging, which is supposedly quick, economical and convenient, but scientists have shown that formaldehyde is released from plastic when exposed to high temperatures. If you use non-food bags for food storage, monomeric phthalates penetrate the food. Once in the body, they have a destructive effect on organs.
    That's why the world has started to move away from plastic. More than 33 countries have already completely abandoned plastic bags, and 53 have introduced partial restrictions or a tax system.

  • The whole truth about bags

    The craft package is not so cool if you look at it closely.
    The production of paper causes 70% more air pollution than the production of plastic bags.
    And one paper bag uses as much water as three plastic bags. And water pollution during production is 50 times higher.
    Instead, BolsaEco bags made from corn starch and do not create such problems for our planet.
    Why do plastic bags pass themselves off as biodegradable bags? What is it?
    These are the same plastic bags that contain the d2w additive, which accelerates decomposition. As a result, plastic breaks down into... plastic only in microparticles (no more than 5 mm).
    That is, it looks something like this:
    A plastic bag breaks down into microplastics, resulting in contamination of the entire surface, water bodies, air, and, as a result, human and animal organisms.
    That's why we encourage you to be an eco-friendly with BolsaEco!
    Our bags are made from corn starch and biopolymers of plant origin. They are fully biodegradable in 90 days.
    Sound cool to you?

  • Refusal of plastic in many countries

    The USА is one of the largest markets for biodegradable bags. The country is actively implementing laws aimed at reducing the use of single-use plastic bags. For example, California and New York have banned the use of single-use plastic bags.
    The EU is a leader in the fight against plastic pollution. According to the EU directive, all member states are obliged to reduce the use of plastic bags to a minimum. France and Italy have banned the use of thin plastic bags.
    Chile became the first Latin American country to ban plastic bags. In 2018, legislation to ban plastic bags in retail chains across the country was approved by Congress and the president.
    The UAE plans to completely ban the use of single-use plastic bags from 2024. This creates favourable conditions for the use of bags made from alternative organic materials.
    In China, a ban on the use of plastic bags in large cities has been in place since 2021, and it is planned to extend these restrictions to the whole country by 2025.
    Japan actively promotes the use of biodegradable bags, particularly in the food industry and retail. Since 2020, the government has required all retail stores to charge for plastic bags, encouraging the use of biodegradable initiatives.

Manufacturing of BOLSAECO products

Our eco products are in development

The bags are completely safe for the environment, as they are made from 100% bio-based materials. They meet all European quality standards.

  • The product is made from organic raw materials, which after use are converted back to organic raw materials.

  • After decomposition, they become part of the natural humus.

  • They are based on corn starch and plant-based biopolymers, which are completely biodegradable.

  • In terms of its mechanical characteristics, this bioplastic differs from conventional polyethylene in that, after use, it can be placed in compost and, after 90 days, it decomposes completely without leaving harmful components.
